Dubai – Mubasher: Emirati imports from Brazil reached $794.53 million (AED 2.918 billion) during the first quarter of 2019, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Saturday.
Brazil’s exports to the Arab world went up to $3.15 billion in Q1-19, from $2.75 billion in the year-ago period, according to the latest figures released by the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).
"The increasing Brazilian export volume to the Arab world is a result of the strengthening trade relations between the region and the South American country,” ABCC’s president Rubens Hannun said.
Arab region’s top imports from Brazil included Iron, maize (corn), sugar, and chicken and bovine meat, and aircraft.
"The growing popularity and demand for Brazilian products in the region is a reflection of the excellent quality of commodities from the country, whether they be foodstuff or engineering items," Hannun commented.
ABCC's goal is to connect the Brazilian and Arab peoples to promote economic, social, and cultural development.
